About me
I’m a multidisciplinary design leader with over two decades of experience guiding teams and shaping brand and product design across fast-moving startups, direct-to-consumer brands, and established companies. My approach blends clarity, structure, and purpose, drawing from the International Style of design while remaining grounded in business outcomes. Whether leading 0→1 product initiatives, building design systems, or crafting customer journeys, I work to create experiences that are both impactful and intentional. At my core, I believe design should simplify complexity, build trust, and deliver value across every touchpoint.
I embrace traditional methods, emerging tools, and new ways of thinking. This includes integrating AI into my design process for ideation, workflow acceleration, and data interpretation. I bring adaptability, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to my work, helping teams align and make decisions through complex or ambiguous challenges. I empathize with customers and use data to build solutions that achieve business goals. Whether shaping long-term design vision or optimizing near-term outcomes, I bring curiosity, precision, and a deliberate approach to continuous improvement.
I lead by example and mentor through collaboration, clarity, and trust. My approach is grounded in active listening, honest feedback, and creating space for designers to grow their confidence, craft, and critical thinking.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Eric when he was Director of Design at Gobble/Sunbasket and I was Director of Marketing. Eric brings an extraordinary dedication to quality and sets a high bar with his research-driven design standards. He has a rare ability to apply objective research to what can often feel like a subjective discipline, helping creative teams move forward with clarity and confidence.
At the same time, Eric is an experimenter at heart—always open to testing new ideas and never letting a brand go stale. He balances rigor with curiosity, making him both a strong leader and a fantastic partner to Marketing.
Eric is also a natural teacher and mentor. He invests in his team, taking the time to sharpen their craft and ensure they continue to grow as designers. In a function that often serves other departments, it can be easy for design teams to get caught up in execution. Eric makes sure his team not only delivers, but also receives the constructive feedback and guidance needed to thrive.
Beyond that, Eric is highly experienced in collaborating across engineering, product, marketing, and executive leadership. He knows how to bridge disciplines and align teams toward shared goals. Any organization would be fortunate to benefit from his leadership, vision, and dedication to excellence. -
I only had the privilege of working with Eric a few short months at Sunbasket, but even in that short span, I got to see what a great designer, thinker, engager, researcher, and teammate he is. To illustrate: in just 3 months, Eric helped transform a 6-year old dev shop that generally preferred working in siloes, into a high functioning, highly collaborative agile team with clear vision and purpose. Discovery processes deeply and excitedly engaged our users. Designs were swiftly, yet thoughtfully, produced and vetted. Developers even took an active interest in this work, leading to much more thoughtful web and mobile outputs, which ultimately achieved every purpose and more we had aimed for with our tests. It’s unrealistic to think that every digital experiment a team plans will result in success for the customer & the company, but that’s just the kind of continual success we had, once Eric arrived. Truly cannot say enough good things about him - strongest of recommendations for him.

Eric is a great Creative Director, leader, and mentor. He was the top reason I decided to join the Design team at 55places.com. Always coolheaded under pressure and a fully engaged leader, Eric inspired his team to deliver the best possible work by exploring ideas outside the norm and always making the user’s experience a priority. He pushed us to go beyond basics, guiding the team to look at different viewpoints while encouraging us to bring our individual experiences into our work. His creativity, skills, and full understanding of the entire creative and product process forged strong collaboration with other disciplines throughout the company.

Eric is among one the of the most seasoned designers you will ever meet. He's incredibly adept at developing junior talent and has a great presence in the room with even the most demanding clients. Despite all of this, Eric's greatest strength is the ability to thematically ground his work and the work of his reports and peers. Every detail of every piece has as explanation as to why a design decision was made. His work has as much thought put into the idea as any I have encountered.

I would not be the designer I am today without Eric as my supervisor and mentor at Sunbasket! Over the last 2 years, he has been extremely generous with his time in helping me develop and grow my skills as a designer. He has continuously met me where I am and has patiently pushed me forward with appropriate challenges and feedback. As a part of his mentorship, he has also provided me with wonderful resources to refer to and learn from.
Eric has always been kind, honest, and constructive in his feedback leaving me motivated to do better. I trust and respect him immensely as a designer and person and could not have asked for a better supervisor and mentor!

I feel extremely lucky to have had my first professional design position be under the leadership of Eric. Eric is probably one of the most intelligent, laid back, and genuinely great humans you could ever work with. His creative direction and eye for user-centric design across not one, but two different brands simultaneously was incredible.
He was always authentic, offered excellent design and process critique, and ensured that his team received all the support they needed. I would always look forward to our 1:1 conversations because he would take a genuine interest in every member of his teams’ professional growth, workload, and mental health.
